Designed by experienced real estate professionals, Autonomy Energy is a bespoke application that collects and reports continuous energy usage data for commercial properties.
Easy access to this data allows occupiers and landlords to:
1. Analyse data and assess where energy is being wasted and optimise systems to improve efficiencies.
2. Comply with their statutory environmental reporting requirements, for example, streamlined energy and carbon reporting, or requirements for other statutory legislation such as the Heat Network Billing Regulations.
Typical data collected can include energy (gas and/or electricity) consumption; CO2 levels; room temperatures; water usage or even footfall-monitoring in near real-time.
Fully flexible and customisable: Autonomy Energy can collect as much data as desired from as many sources as required in near real-time, 24-hours a day.
Data captured will depend on sensors installed in the building and typically includes on-floor temperatures, CO2 levels, electricity, gas and water consumption.
Autonomy Energy’s analysis of data enables implementation of energy reduction strategies to assist in net zero carbon strategies.
We can identify exceptional consumption controls, i.e. automatic leak detection and valve closure, saving both precious resources and money.
Automated reporting eradicates human generated errors (e.g. incorrect meter readings) from data.
Because it has been developed by professionals in the commercial property industry it offers a full understanding of landlord and occupier-specific requirements.

Autonomy Energy
The application reports data in near real-time, 24-hours a day. The frequency of measurements can be adjusted to cater for a variety of use cases.
The specific data that can be captured depends on which sensors are installed in the building. More can be added for a fully-customised dataset.
The application was developed by the owners of a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) regulated commercial property consultancy, who specialise in Property Management and Mechanical & Electrical Consultancy.  The development was prompted by the absence of a sufficiently flexible and responsive product in the marketplace. Â
The application can connect with existing Building Energy Management Systems or proprietary metering networks via the Autonomy RAID (Remote Access Interface Device) over a secure internet link, 5G router or LoRaWAN.
Autonomy Energy uses calibrated and certified MID approved equipment to maintain the highest levels of resilience. This equipment is modified to the specific requirements of the site during set up, avoiding further costs in the future.
Tenants can have individual access profiles, from which they can understand their energy use (via a variety of charts) and generate reports.
Additionally, our Autonomy Energy team (who are Mechanical & Electrical Consulting Engineers) can analyse data to identify actions to promote efficiency savings or plant optimisation strategies.
Immediately after the implementation of Autonomy Energy, it was evident that the building was utilising excessive electricity and gas based upon a building of it size and class - BREEAM Excellent. The Autonomy Energy platform, via monitoring of the various meter and sensors already installed, identified an issue with the building management system controls whereby the plant time clocks were resetting every midnight due to a faulty BMS controller and causing the plant to operate 24/7. The savings identified by Autonomy Energy equated annually to over £120k.
Within 1 week of implementation of Autonomy Energy on this newly refurbished office building, excessive electricity based upon a building of it size and design was evident. The Autonomy Energy platform via monitoring of the various meters and sensors already installed identified a base build commissioning error whereby the plant time clocks that were programmed to the building management system head end PC but were not programmed into the plant controllers. The savings identified by Autonomy Energy equated annually to £100k.
The Autonomy Energy system was implemented across an industrial portfolio to assist our client on their net zero carbon journey. The installation comprised the use of LoRaWAN wireless sensors and transmitting of data via a gateway to the Autonomy Energy platform. The low cost / low impact solution meant no disruption to the tenant's business operations during the installation and has enabled the client to monitor, measure and report their net zero carbon journey via implementation of renewable energy systems across their portfolio.
